| Built from 1949 until 1952. 9 and a quarter inch  long operating box car, orange painted body with  black heat-stamped lettering, car numbered  "63132", AT&SF (Santa Fe) logo on left and  technical data on right, brake wheel, operating  plunger mechanism with rubberized man, and  staple-end trucks with magnetic couplers. 1949  production had brown painted metal doors, frame  with metal ladders on four corners (part of the  frame stamping, not separately applied). 1950  production had chemically blackened metal doors  with ladders. 1951 production had metal doors  retained, but ladders eliminated. 1952 production  had black plastic doors and no ladders. A very  rare variation exists which is tan in color,  usually used for the X3464 NYC (it has white  heat-stamped letters).   |
